From the early 1950s to the 1980s, KTKT was one of the legendary top 40 radio stations. In the 1980s, radio audiences started to increase, vinyl records were replaced with CDs, and tape was becoming obsolete. The station started to move away from the top 40, and before long, KTKT was just a memory.
