Rose Records was founded in 1931 in Chicago as a radio store named Rose Radio. They later added phonographs and records, which outsold radios, prompting Rose to stop selling radios altogether. Rose quickly expanded the chain, and its flagship store was one of the world’s largest record stores, with two stories and over 100,000 titles on cassettes, CDs, and LPs.
